Contemporary Chess Set

This project was created for the class "CNC Machining." The purpose of this class is to design a project and write the code to program an automated mill or lathe to make the parts. I took this a step further and drew my project in Autodesk Inventor, then wrote the program code based off of the dimensions in the software. Additionally, I rendered images of the design using Autodesk 3DS Max Design. The pieces are made out of aluminum, then will bepainted with one side in black, and the other in chrome. While as of 1/3/2012 all parts have been manufactured, the are currently undergoing painting. I will therefore update this page when the pieces are complete.
